William Lyon Mackenzie (March 12, 1795 – August 28, 1861) is a Scottish born Canadian and American journalist, politician, and rebellion leader.

He serves as the first mayor of Toronto, Upper Canada and is an important leader during the 1837 Upper Canada Rebellion.
