Alexios V is brought back to Constantinople,…
November 1204 CE
Alexios V is brought back to Constantinople, condemned to death for treason against Alexios IV, and thrown from the top of the Column of Theodosius.
He is the last emperor to reign in Constantinople before the establishment of the Latin Empire, which will control the city for the next fifty-seven years, until it is recovered by the Nicaean emperor Michael VIII Palaiologos.
