February 1500 CE
Cesare obtains custody of Caterina from the French general, Yves d'Allègre, promising that he will treat her not as a prisoner but as a guest.
Caterina and her entourage are therefore forced to go with the army that is preparing to conquer Pesaro.
The conquest has to be postponed because on February 5, Ludovico il Moro returns to Milan, forcing French troops to turn back.
Cesare departs alone with the Papal army for Rome, where he takes Caterina.
