November 1237 CE
The Lombard League's army is virtually annihilated.
Frederick makes a triumphal entrance in the allied city of Cremona, with the Carroccio towed by an elephant and Tiepolo chained to it.
The latter will first be detained in Apulia, then publicly executed in Naples.
The Carroccio will later be sent to Rome as a show of imperial power.
