Many plans for peace are formulated and rejected, but on June 25, 1970, the Rogers Plan, put forth by United States secretary of state William Rogers, starts a dialogue that will eventually lead to
the long-awaited cease-fire in the War of Attrition along the Suez Canal.

Basically, the plan is a modification of Resolution 242.
