The Boxers, the English term for Yihequan and other associated groups, mainly in North China known for carrying out the Boxer Rebellion from 1899 to 1901.
The movement, made up of local village groups, at its height counts anywhere between three and one hundred thousand members.
They originally attack the Qing leadership of China for being "westernized", destroy foreign owned property, such as railroads and telegraphs, murder Christian missionaries and Chinese Christians.
They then support the Empress Dowager in resisting the resulting foreign invasion, which all but destroys the group and ends the Rebellion, though some members will continue in other groups across China.
