Eugène-Guillaume Argenteau, comte de Mercy or Eugen Gillis Wilhelm Graf Mercy d'Argenteau (1743 – May 4, 1819) joins the Austrian army in 1760, becomes a general officer, and leads large formations of soldiers in several actions during the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars.
